Kulykove Pole or Kulikovo Field was used in Soviet times for military parades. Anti-Maidan protesters built a tent city there in early 2014. During the 2nd May events, Maidan protesters stormed the area and fighting broke out in the House of Trades Unions, leading to a fire which killed 42 people.
