Alongside the historical and mythological figures in the exhibition "Internal Mythologies' are three paintings depicting three different ‘people’, Gardner, Deliverer and Serial Killer. None of the figures represented are specific, their features are outlined on a solid block of colour against a bright white canvas. Each piece deals more with the realm of ideas, or notions. They avoid the purely representational and a rather notion of what each figure could be.
Deliverer looks tired, as if he has been out all day working to get parcels to people's homes. During the recent lockdowns there has been a huge growth in online shopping, resulting in an increase of Deliverers. Could this individual be one of the many people who lost their primary job in retail, the arts and entertainment, and have had to make changes in order to survive?
