Throughout the course of her artistic career Blide has examined and explored the subject of childhood, innocence and coming to terms with the harshness of the lived every day. Her practice encompasses installation, sculpture, painting and drawings.

Most recently she has been working with a series of small colourful paintings taking inspiration from her father’s snapshots from her childhood. Whilst there is a dreamy sense of nostalgia in the work there is also an underlying seriousness and gravity.
